Stress and Anxiety

Stress and anxiety are part of being human, but when they start to feel overwhelming or constant, they can impact your wellbeing, relationships, and daily life. You might notice racing thoughts, a sense of dread, physical tension, irritability, or difficulty sleeping. Stress often arises from external pressures—work demands, relationship issues, life transitions—while anxiety can linger even when there’s no obvious cause.

In particular, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) is characterised by persistent and excessive worry about various aspects of life, such as health, finances, or everyday responsibilities. This worry can feel uncontrollable and exhausting, often accompanied by restlessness, fatigue, and difficulty concentrating. Living with GAD can make it hard to feel present or at ease, as your mind is constantly anticipating the worst.

For those experiencing panic or anxiety attacks, therapy can provide the tools and insight needed to break the cycle. Using CBT-based approaches, we work to identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, build awareness of physical symptoms, and develop grounding techniques that support you in moments of acute distress. By understanding how panic develops and learning to respond differently, you can begin to reduce the intensity and frequency of these episodes over time.

Through therapy, we create a safe, non-judgemental space where your thoughts and feelings are explored with compassion. Together, we work to understand the root of your anxiety, identify triggers, and develop personalised strategies to manage it. The goal isn’t to eliminate anxiety completely—but to reduce its hold on your life, so you can reconnect with a sense of calm, confidence, and control.
