Adult ADHD

Adult ADHD can affect far more than concentration. For many adults, ADHD can impact organisation, time management, emotional regulation, motivation, relationships, work, study and everyday responsibilities.

Some adults have always felt different but may not have had the language to understand why. Others may have spent years masking, overcompensating, pushing through or developing coping strategies that have helped them manage, but have also contributed to anxiety, overwhelm, burnout or self-criticism.

Adult ADHD can often be misunderstood. It is not about laziness, lack of intelligence or not trying hard enough. Many adults with ADHD are capable, creative, driven and highly thoughtful, but may struggle with executive functioning, emotional sensitivity, inconsistency or feeling unable to meet the demands placed on them.

This page provides information about the Adult ADHD support available through my practice, including ADHD coaching, pre-assessment support and frequently asked questions.

How Adult ADHD May Show Up

ADHD can look different in adults and may not always be obvious from the outside. You may notice difficulties with:

  • Procrastination or task avoidance

  • Starting tasks but struggling to finish them

  • Poor time management or always feeling behind

  • Forgetfulness or losing important items

  • Feeling overwhelmed by everyday responsibilities

  • Difficulty organising work, home or study

  • Emotional sensitivity or rejection sensitivity

  • Restlessness or feeling internally “busy”

  • Impulsive decisions or difficulty pausing before responding

  • Struggling with routines and consistency

  • Overthinking, anxiety or mental exhaustion

  • Burnout from masking or trying to keep up

For some adults, ADHD becomes more noticeable during periods of increased responsibility, such as university, work demands, parenting, relationship changes or major life transitions.

Adult ADHD Support Available

I offer support for adults who are exploring ADHD traits, awaiting assessment, have received a diagnosis, or would like practical support with managing ADHD-related difficulties.

My ADHD services are not a formal diagnostic assessment and I do not prescribe medication. However, I can support you in understanding your experiences, developing practical strategies and considering appropriate next steps.

ADHD Coaching

ADHD coaching offers practical, structured support for adults who want help with daily life, routines, organisation, procrastination, emotional regulation and executive functioning.

Adult ADHD Pre-Assessment

The Adult ADHD Pre-Assessment service is designed for adults who are questioning whether ADHD may be part of their experience and would like a structured clinical summary to support next steps.

A Compassionate and Neurodivergent-Affirming Approach

Many adults with ADHD have spent years feeling misunderstood, criticised or frustrated with themselves. My approach is compassionate, collaborative and neurodivergent-affirming.  Rather than focusing on blame, we explore how your brain works, what patterns may be keeping you stuck, and what support could help you feel more understood, organised and in control.

Whether you are looking for practical strategies, emotional support or guidance around next steps, Adult ADHD support can help you begin making sense of your experiences in a safe and non-judgemental space.

Moving Forward

You do not need to have everything figured out before seeking support. You may simply be curious, newly diagnosed, awaiting assessment or beginning to recognise long-standing patterns that may be linked to ADHD.

Support can help you better understand yourself, reduce overwhelm and begin building strategies that feel realistic, manageable and personalised to you.
